Charlton Hall
Welcome to Charlton Hall.
Charlton Hall is a stunning, Grade II listed rural country house where tradition playfully meets eccentricity. Here we bring you a magical and spectacular place to celebrate your wedding in a truly unique venue that is very different to any other in the North East.
We have brought this beautiful Georgian hall back to life, respecting its listed architectural features and rich history, Charlton Hall boasts high ceilings, vast rooms with baroque fireplaces and sash windows overlooking 150 acres of rolling countryside along the Northumbrian coast.
The estate is entered through a private pillared entrance just off the A1, giving you the sense of being Lord and Lady of the hall. At the heart of this magical estate lies our 18th Century Charlton Hall, situated within unspoilt woodland and overlooking beautiful parkland towards the coast.
As the naughty older sister to our award-winning wedding venue Doxford Barns, we have filled the hall with imagination, fun and cheeky interiors. Our bold colour scheme compliments imposing Tom Dixon pendants, mismatching fabrics, tapestries and throught-provoking statement pieces found throughout the hall.
The venue includes enchanted function and entertaining rooms, including a large formal drawing room with marble fireplace and a stunning dining room with views towards the coast, which is perfect for an intimate wedding breakfast. The hall itself has 6 beautiful bedrooms to sleep 14, all with tastefully appointed en-suite bathrooms and named after the fearless characters acssociated with Charlton Hall. There is an additional cottage in the grounds which hosts a further 2 bedrooms.
Outside, our beautiful gardens lead to a spectacular courtyard offering a tranquil space for outdoor drink receptions accompanied by sumptuous canapés brought to you and your guests from our well-known head chef and his team. Within this magnificent courtyard is the entrance to the rustically charming ceremony hall which seats up to 140 people.
