History and romance are set in stone and marble at this legendary aristocratic residence situated on the Isle of Bute on the West Coast of Scotland, amidst 300 acres of gardens and grounds. A Victorian palace of Gothic splendour, a select number of weddings are arranged here for couples who cannot resist the glamour and drama of the house and its beautiful island setting (just a short scenic sea-crossing from the mainland and only 90 minutes from Glasgow Airport.)
As befits the Mount Stuart code of discretion, we do not publicise weddings here, but suffice to say those who have been captivated by Mount Stuart include stellar names in the world of fashion, music and film. Wedding Ceremonies can be held in the breath-taking Marble Chapel or the glorious gardens – there are seven entrancing places licenced for weddings at Mount Stuart. With interior intricacies of quite extraordinary beauty; art, antiques, ancient books and a honeymoon suite with a night sky ceiling and its own glasshouse garden terrace, a wedding here is never anything less than a spectacular affair.
For 2016 we are now offering catering in-house so if you fall in love with Mount Stuart and book your wedding here, we will be delighted to tailor our services to your needs. Our chefs love nothing more than making delectable dishes using the freshest possible local produce, and on the Isle of Bute they are spoilt for choice with freshly caught fish and superb shellfish, wild game from the Estate, beef from our home farms and fruit and vegetables from Mount Stuart’s pretty kitchen garden.
