Saltmarsh is a beautful 16th Century, Grade II listed, flint farmhouse and gardens set on the edge of Friston Forest within the rural location of the South Downs National Park.
Licenced for weddings and civil partnerships, Saltmarsh is a stunning, picture-perfect venue to hold your wedding. The Farmhouse and gardens provide the perfect backdrop for photographs. Our Garden Room with bar and Friston Room are ideal for intimate weddings, whilst the adjacent Turkey Barn and Walled Garden can cater for larger celebrations. Carefully prepared menus and packages provide suggestions and ideas but can be flexible and bespoke if you are looking for something a little extra special.
After extensive renovation it now boasts six ensuite guest rooms each decorated with a mix of contemporary and antique furniture and has retained many original period features including beamed ceilings, original wooden floors and open fires. The cafe style kitchen, vibrant courtyard and pretty gardens serves delicious fresh coffee, breakfasts, light lunches, afternoon tea and home-made cakes as well as daily menu and specials. Evening meals may be possible by arrangement.
Your family, friends or guests may like to take the opportunity to extend their stay as Saltmarsh is it's an ideal base for exploring the area with many historical and interesting attractions as well as picturesque villages and larger seaside towns of Eastbourne and cosmopolitan Brighton. The world famous Glyndebourne Festival is also just a short drive away.
Due to our location within the Seven Sisters Country Park the area can offer a wide range of outdoor activities including walking/hiking, birdwatching, fishing, canoeing, paddle boarding, horse riding and biking.
We look forward to welcoming you to Saltmarsh Farmhouse.
