Situated in the heart of West Sussex, less than 10 miles from Crawley and equidistant from both Brighton and the Borough of Croydon, just 1/2 hour to both, lies Wakehurst, Kew’s world class botanic gardens. Embodying the soul of the High Weald, couples find themselves enchanted and bewitched by the intricate tapestry of giant redwoods, sharp ghylls and exotic plants from across the globe that Wakehurst has woven across the landscape and across time, a story board of memories that they too hope for and aspire to.
The Elizabethan Mansion, offers a light and airy Gallery and an opulent wood-panelled Dining Room both of which are licensed for Marriages and Civil Partnerships. The rooms that can accommodate from 20 to 110 guests for a ceremony, from up to 110 for seated dining or 180 for a standing reception open onto a formal lawn overlooking the Mansion Lake which offer opportunities for stunning photographs and fabulous drinks receptions.
Wakehurst’s 21st century building is The Millennium Seed Bank, or as it is affectionately known the ‘MSB’. A contemporary glasshouse, it caters for up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast. The ‘MSB’ is a ‘BST’ option (available from March to October) and offers a back drop of tropical succulents, cool dark granite and glass, offering the option of a truly distinctive modern wedding.
Last but by no means least is the Croquet Lawn which plays host to many a wedding marquee. Set back on the Croquet Lawn, your marquee benefits from privacy as well as stunning views across the Mansion Lawn and botanic gardens, recalling memories of Robert Redford and The Great Gatsby!
