Karen’s Cakes first shop opened in 1987 and ever since Karen Burton has been baking and decorating wedding and special occasion cakes as well as selling cake decorating supplies to both home and professional cake decorators. We have a portfolio of beautiful contemporary designs from cupcakes to wedding cakes, all ready for you to personalise and order either online, by phone or in our shop in Bishop’s Stortford. We also offer a bespoke service.
We believe a wedding cake is the Grandame of cakes, the ultimate, the blow your guests away cake of all cakes! A wedding cake from Karen’s Cakes is about the whole package, every element is as important as the next, from the recipes to the designs, our aim is to produce the very best of the best resulting in a perfect storm of unforgettable cake alchemy magic! Karen’s wedding cake designs are constantly evolving, incorporating the latest trends and twists to the collection and as with all our cakes they can be personalised to suit your unique wedding day.

Ordering
Our wedding cakes can be ordered on-line from the comfort of your own home and most designs can be ordered in 3 sizes and all of them in various colour schemes to suit your wedding theme. There is a choice of 8 different flavours, 2 types of fruit and 6 non-fruit cake. Descriptions of each flavour can be found by clicking on the pink ‘help me choose a flavour’ button on the right hand side of the each wedding cake design page. We can also send out a cake tasting sample pack by request for a small charge to help you make those all-important recipe choices, this charge will be refunded if you place a wedding cake order. It is never too early to order your wedding cake but we do require a minimum of 20 workings days’ notice for non-fruit cakes, 30 working days for orders containing all or part rich fruit cake and 40 days working days for orders contain all or part luxurious wedding cake. Please note there are certain times of the year when availability may be restricted.

Collection and delivery
Many people choose to collect their wedding cake, alternatively we do offer a delivery service to a selection of local hotels and venues in the Bishop’s Stortford area (approximate 20 mile radius).
