Houchins is a traditional venue with a modern twist. The elegant Grade 2* listed farmhouse provides beautiful and comfortable accommodation for the bridal party and a splendid contemporary barn complex. Houchins caters for weddings and civil ceremonies from 25 - 150+ people, offering a choice of indoor grandeur, outdoor simplicity or a combination of the two.

Easy access. Houchins is just 1 mile east of Coggeshall, with direct access from the A120. It is approximately 15 minutes from Colchester and Braintree, 35 minutes from Stansted Airport and 1hr 20 minutes from Central London

The Loggia This is designed for outdoor summer weddings (May to September). The oak-clad Loggia sits at the end of the wedding garden and is connected to a traditional marquee that offers covered seating for 100+ guests. From here it is just a short walk to the terrace where reception drinks are served.

The Foundry Within the barns, the Foundry offers a stunning backdrop for civil ceremonies throughout the year. Again, capacity in the Foundry will be for 100+ guests. Before taking their seats for the formalities, friends can mingle in the inter-connected 'Chitting Shed'.

The Drawing Room (in the house) If you are looking for a small and intimate civil ceremony, for less than 25 people, you may wish to consider using the drawing room in the main house. With its' open fireplace, 17th century oak panelling and more formal decor it offers a perfect space for smaller civil ceremonies.
