Ballyseede Castle is renowned for its standard of service and culinary expertise having been awarded 2AA Rosettes. It is a member of the Manor House Hotels and it is easy to see why.

Ballyseede Castle is steeped in history, it was the chief garrison of the legendary Fitzgerald's, Earls of Desmond, many of whom swore allegiance to the crown, which resulted in the infamous Geraldine Wars that continued intermittently for three centuries. Following the defeat of the Desmond's in 1584, the Castle plus 300 acres of land was granted as a perpetual lease to Robert Blennerhassett, the rent being one red rose to be presented each year on Midsummers day.

This noble family occupied Ballyseede Castle until 1966 when Arthur died and bequeathed the estate to a distant relative who sold it and it was at this time it was converted into a luxury hotel.
