Belmount Hall is a beautifully renovated, exclusive use, Grade II Listed Georgian house in the heart of the English Lake District, located just outside of the pretty village of Hawkshead. We offer a warm welcome to give you a real home from home feel.
Our gravelled courtyard and large lawns are perfect for a drinks and canapé reception with the unspoilt view down the Esthwaite valley to Esthwaite water providing the ideal backdrop. There is plenty of room for garden games, an ice cream trolley or something different that takes your fancy. We also offer spacious indoor reception rooms to accommodate your guests.
There are two West Barn rooms for you to make your own and decorate with flowers, candles, pom poms, bunting etc. The main room, our West Barn Indoor Marquee, is our designated room for your first meal in your marriage - the wedding breakfast. We will set up and lay tables with white linen tablecloths, white linen napkins, cutlery, glasses and crockery for up to 90 guests. If you are looking at a wedding with over 90 guests, we have plenty of space on our lawn for a marquee.
We are licensed for civil ceremonies, and have the space to accommodate up to 84 guests for a ceremony inside the West Barn Ante Room. If you have a marquee on our lawn, we can accommodate up to 120 guests in the West Barn Indoor Marquee for your ceremony. Our local church, less than a mile down the road, is Hawkshead St Michael's of all Angels. Other popular church choices with previous couples have been Brathay, Coniston, Sawrey, Ambleside and Windermere.
Belmount Hall has six double bedrooms, each one individually designed and with stunning countryside views. The house is ideally suited to you and your wedding party taking all bedrooms for a weekend house party (2 or 3 nights). We provide a continental and a full cooked breakfast each morning for you to enjoy in our dining room with views down the Esthwaite valley. There are numerous holiday cottages, B&B's and hotels nearby.
