The rich, vibrant history of The Customs House in South Shields has made it a significant and imposing part of both the visual and cultural landscape of South Tyneside. We’ve been at the heart of our bustling community since it was built in the 1860s. The Customs House has undergone a huge transformation from its days as a major port - it now exists as a vibrant arts centre and could soon be host to your wedding!

We have a range of unique and traditional spaces that can be personalised to create a memorable day for drinks receptions, wedding breakfasts and on through to your evening reception.

Our art gallery, cinema, theatre, River View Suite and our Daltons Suite can all provide you with a unique venue that really does have the wow factor!
