I am an accredited humanist wedding celebrant with more than 13 years experience of creating and delivering positive, memorable and moving ceremonies.

As each ceremony is personally written for the specific couple there is no set framework. It would normally include words of welcome to the guests, recognition of both partners’ families if appropriate, some general thoughts on love, relationships and marriage, something of the story of you as a couple, your hopes for the future etc, as well as vows, exchange of rings. There is scope for readings, music, participation by family/friends.

I can advise on any aspect of the ceremony and can provide you with a CD containing suitable readings as Word documents. I normally encourage couples to write their own vows; I can provide samples to stimulate the brain if necessary!

The normal procedure is as follows. I would meet with you to discuss your requirements. I would then write a draft script of the entire ceremony which I would email to you. This draft could then be worked on until you are totally happy with it. I would then deliver the ceremony on the day and give you a copy of the script and a certificate in a folder for you to keep.

I conduct weddings throughout the Southwest of England (and elsewhere in the UK on request) and on continental Europe. I am happy to speak in French, German, Spanish or Italian, as required. (I spend part of the year in Spain and can meet couples there if that is more convenient).
